Research Projects

 

The Department of Economic Geography of Services investigates questions related to the organization of corporate networks and value added chains as well as the resulting spatial effects. Its current focus is on the theoretical expansion of the concept with the inclusion of futher economic stages and organizational forms.

A further focus of research is the analysis of the effects of new technologies on transport. This includes both the transport of goods and passengers.

One of the methodological focuses is designing a geographical information system to illustrate and analyze spatial interlocking among value creation processes.
